Two-day seminar on agrarian relations in previous centuries

Around 100 students would take part in the two-day national seminar on "Agrarian Relations and Land Reforms in India during 18th and 19th Centuries" to be held here on September 24 and 25.
The seminar is an attempt to explore the agrarian releations and reforms that have occured in the stream of India during 18th and 19th centuries, Dr K K N Kurup, former Vice Chancellor of University of Calicut and Coordinator of the seminar told mediapersons here today.
Discussions will be held on topics including "social distribution of property rights in 18th century Kerala" , "Emergence of the Landed Gentry in Hyderabad state" and "British Colonialism and the Land Settlements in Mysore".
The seminar is jointly organised by the Institute of Research and Development, Vadakara, Calicut and Keraleeyan Smaraka Samiti, Calicut with the support of Indian Council for Historical Research(ICHR), New Delhi.
