Two-day workshop on road safety from Aug 19

A two-day national workshop on road safety will be held here from August 19.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will inaugurate the workshop while Union Minister for Road Transport Nitin Gadkari will be the chief guest.
It is being organised jointly by Central government and Andhra Pradesh government in co-ordination with the World Bank, according to an official press release.
Experts on road safety from the country will present their papers on the topic during the workshop.
Participants will comprise ministers, officials of departments concerned, members of Supreme Court committee on road safety, transport ministers, transport Commissioners, central secretaries.
Besides, police officials, officials of roads and buildings department, NHAI, medical and health Department, municipal administration, transport department.
Topics to be covered during the workshop are international and national best practices in road safety, innovative road safety initiatives, engineering aspects in road safety, enforcement measures to be taken for improving road safety, and national and state level road safety challenges and responses, the release added.
