Two dead in motorcycle-truck collision

Two men were killed after their motorcycle rammed into a truck on the Mumbai-Agra national highway Saturday, the police said Sunday.

Police said the deceased Sagar Shejval (24) and Sandeep Gavare (30), both sons of police personnel, were not wearing helmets and apparently speeding when the incident occurred last night.

Meanwhile, Nashik Police have stated that 115 motorcycle riders have been killed this year in road accidents.

"A total of 112 of 115 motorcycle riders who died in accidents were found to be not wearing helmets," the police said in a press release.

It also said that 12 motorists have been killed this year. "All of them were not wearing seat-belts", it said.
