Two dead, three taken ill

while three members of their family fell ill after consuming poisonous food in South Assam's Karimganj district today.

Bikash Halam (seven) and his 19-year-old sister Pinky Halam died after consuming food cooked by poisonous oil in their house at Rangamati under Patharkandi revenue circle.

The three members of their family have been admitted to the Makunda Christian hospital, Patharkandi revenue circle officer F R Laskar said.

An inquiry has been ordered.
