The team yesterday seized the machines being used for the test and also recovered about Rs 30,000 in cash from their possession, a spokesman of the Police Department said here today.
"Acting on a tip-off, the team approached Jagdish Godara through a woman acting as a patient and asked him to perform the test to which he agreed," he said.
"The woman was first asked to come to Dabwali in Sirsa district of Haryana and then she was taken to a private hospital at Moga in Punjab where Godara informed her that the test would be performed by another doctor named Sunit Mittal," the spokesperson said.
He said that a case has been registered against both doctors under the provisions of the Pre-natal Diagnostic Techniques (PNDT) act and they would be taken on remand from court so that other persons who also helped them in this crime could be booked.
