The first blaze was reported in a building located in the inner circle of Connaught Place area in the heart of the national capital here this morning.
The fire had broken out around 7:30 AM on the first floor of Hamilton House building situated in A Block of Connaught Place at the NIIT (National Institute of Information Technology) computer training centre.
According to Fire Dept, they got a call about the blaze at 7:50 AM following which 15 fire tenders were rushed to the spot.
Around four to five people who were working out in the gym were quickly evacuated.

A major incident was averted as shops and offices nearby were mostly shut when the incident took place.
"The fire was of the category of medium fire. As many as 26 fire tenders were pressed into duty along with 50 fire fighters," said Delhi Fire Department Director A K Sharma.
Entire Connaught Place area was filled with thick smoke and police and fire officials had a tough time keeping onlookers at bay. One of the metro gates was also shut to prevent people reaching the spot.
The fire was completely doused by 3 PM but cooling exercise continued till late evening, fire officials said. Although the exact cause of fire was not known, prima facie it appeared that a short circuit caused the fire.
