Bihar elections: Two FIRs filed against Lalu for remarks against PM Modi, Shah

Two FIRs have been lodged against RJD chief Lalu Prasad for allegedly making objectionable remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP President Amit Shah, officials said today.

"An FIR was lodged against Lalu Prasad yesterday with Sachivalaya police station in Patna for allegedly making remarks of 'narbhakshi' (cannibal) and 'pagal' (mad) against BJP President Amit Shah...The FIR was lodged on the basis of the report of a magistrate," Additional Chief Electoral Officer R Lakshamanan said.

Another FIR was lodged against Lalu Prasad yesterday with the Kanti police station in Muzaffarpur district on the basis of a report of magistrate Sujit Kumar Sinha for his alleged 'narbhakshi' (cannibal) and 'brahmpishach' comments against Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi at an election rally at Kanti, SHO Ganpati Thakur said.

The police official said the FIR had been lodged against Prasad under various sections of IPC and the Representation of People's Act.

On October 6, two FIRs were lodged against Prasad for allegedly making 'Narbhakshi' comment against Shah on October 1.
