Two friends commit suicide

Two women in their early twenties allegedly committed suicide by jumping into the KRS Right Bank Canal near Majjigepura in the district today, police said.
The bodies of the two women, identified as Pavitra (22) and Jayanti (22), who were friends hailing from different villages, have been recovered, police said.
The two, who left their homes yesterday morning, are suspected to have jumped into the KRS Right Bank Canal together later this evening, police said.
Both of them were graduates and the cause of their extreme step is yet to be ascertained, they said.
