Sonu alias Chanu Baba (24) and Shankar (23) were arrested last evening from Rohini, said Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell).
On May 5, Rattan Lal (65) was shot dead inside his shop in Rohini by two armed assailants.
Lal was a key witness in his son Gaurav's murder case, said the DCP.
Gaurav was allegedly killed last year by one Manjeet and to weaken the trial of the case, the latter had allegedly hired contract killers for Rs two lakh to eliminate Lal, who was provided with a security cover by the Delhi Police.

Yesterday, the Special Cell of Delhi Police received a tip-off that the members of the gang would come to Sector 11, Rohini in a car to meet someone, he said.
When the police intercepted the car, the two occupants in it -- Sonu and Shankar -- took out their weapons and the former pointed a pistol towards the policemen, the DCP said, adding that however, the accused were overpowered by the men in uniform.
In the last few months, Sonu was involved in "eliminating" the members and facilitators of Tillu's rival gang, headed by Jitender alias Gogi of Alipur, added the DCP.
Earlier, he was also involved in cases of carjacking, murder, robbery etc., he said.
