Two govt officials arrested for taking bribe

The anti-corruption vigilance sleuths today arrested two government officials at Digapahandi and Paralakhemundi in Odisha's Ganjam and Gajapati districts in separate incidents for allegedly taking bribe from two different persons.
While the head clerk of District Labour Office, Paralakhemundi in Gajapati district, Prasant Kumar Samal, was arrested for allegedly taking a bribe Rs 1,800 from a person to renew his labour registration card, assistant agriculture officer, Digapahandi (Ganjam) Nimai Charan Das, was arrested while taking a bribe Rs 1,000 form a person.
Das was allegedly taking the bribe to recommend an application for grant of subsidy on purchase of a machine.
Both officials were caught red headed by the vigilance personnel while taking bribe. The bribe money along with several documents have been seized from them, said vigilance SP (Berhampur) Manoranjan Panda.
