Two officials of town planning department were caught while they were allegedly taking bribe of Rs five lakhs from a complainant, Anti-Corruption Bureau said today.
Town planning department's assistant director Prasad Gaikwad and his subordinate Sanjay Tonpe had demanded Rs five lakhs from the complainant, a property owner, for sanctioning the layout of his plot in Sharnapur locality here, ACB's Deputy Superintendent of Police Prakash Kulkarni said.
The complainant later approached the ACB which laid a trap and nabbed the duo last night while they were accepting the bribe at Gaikwad's residence, he said.
