Amit Muraraka and Anuj Murarka were caught when they were fleeing with cash they had collected from as many as 70 students on promise of offering them the device at cheaper rates at a show being held at Anand Mohan Hall, they said.

The duo had purportedly released an advertisement offering computer tablets for Rs 2,000 a piece at their 'show'. However, they allegedly tried to give a slip when the show was in progress, following which the people gathered there beat them up before handing them over to the police.

The two have been booked on charges of fraud, police said, adding that the involvement of a gang in the matter is suspected.
