Two persons were arrested for allegedly robbing a cash collection agent at gunpoint in northwest Delhi's Keshav Puram last month, police said on Thursday.
The accused were identified as Kamlesh (27), a native of Sirohi in Rajasthan and Akash (26), a resident of Sultanpuri here, they said.
"On July 22, one complainant reported that he collected Rs 10 lakh from Keshav Puram and he was going with his colleague to deliver it in Pitampura. When they reached near underpass at Lawrence Road, two bike-borne men intercepted them and robbed them at gunpoint," said Vijayanta Arya, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Northwest).
During investigation, police identified the accused persons with the help of CCTV footage, following which Kamlesh was arrested from Sirohi on Wednesday and Rs 3 lakh were recovered from his possession, the DCP said.
On his instance, Akash was also arrested and Rs 90,000, along with a scooter and one country-made pistol was recovered, she said.
The accuse disclosed that they had information that the money was being carried and based on that they executed the robbery, police said.
They were previously involved in many cases of robbery. One of their accomplice Raju is still at large and efforts are being made to nab him, Arya added.
