Two held in Ahmedabad with mephedrone worth Rs 9.27 lakh

Ahmedabad police's crime branch has arrested two persons and seized the banned psychotropic drug 'mephedrone' worth Rs 9.27 lakh from them.
Acting on a tip-off, crime branch officers kept a watch at Vishala circle near Vejalpur here and nabbed Faizu Rehman Shaikh (33) and Rohit Vaaghe (23), both local residents, late last night.
Police seized 92.7 grams of mephedrone, commonly known as MD drug or M-Cat or 'Meow-Meow' from their possession.
The duo had procured it from one Shahid from Mahim area of Mumbai, police said.
They had been allegedly selling the drug in and around Ahmedabad for the last one and a half months.
Both were booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Further investigation is underway.
