Two held in Paikpara robbery case

Two men were today arrested for their alleged involvement in a robbery incident at a residence in north Kolkata's Paikpara area, police said.
History-sheeter Asgar Sardar and his associate Ratan Dhar were arrested for the robbery which was reported earlier this month at a house on Raja Mahindra Road in Tala police station limits, a senior officer of Kolkata Police said.
"Rs 12,000 in cash along with some gold ornaments estimated at around Rs 1.5 lakh were robbed from the house when the inhabitants were out for a vacation during the Durga pujas," he said adding that on returning home on October 2, the inhabitants found the entire house ransacked.
Acting on tip-offs and the way the doors were broken open, raids at the hideouts of the suspects were conducted whichled to the arrests of Asgar and his associate, both of whom have admitted to committing the crime, he added.
