Two held with 76 pouches of illicit liquor in J&K

Two persons were arrested for allegedly possessing 76 pouches of illicit liquor in the Jammu and Reasi districts of J&K, police said today.
Police in Chinore area of Jammu district arrested a man and recovered 46 pouches of illicit liquor from his possession yesterday, a police officer said.
The accused has been identified as Parshotam Sharma (38), who was carrying the illicit liquor to his native village to be sold amounts the people there, he said.
Another man was arrested along with 30 pouches of illicit liquor from the Katra town of Reasi district yesterday, the officer said.
He said that the police intercepted a person identified as Sanju while he was moving under suspicious circumstances.
On the search of the accused, police recovered 30 pouches of illicit liquor from his possession.
He said cases under various sections of the Excise Act have been registered in both the cases at their respective police stations.
