Two clerks of a government hospital were today arrested by sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau for allegedly accepting bribe from a client in order to release the reward money that his wife was eligible for under state medical schemes.
Accused clerks Mohan Lal and Manish Sharma had demanded a bribe of Rs 1,000 to release the sum of Rs 7,000 under "Janani Surkasha" and "Shubhlaxmi" schemes to Dinesh Gurjar, whose wife gave birth to girls in 2014 and 2015 in a government hospital at Neemkathan in Jhunjhunu district, a police spokesperson said.
According to the spokesperson, the clerks had received Rs 500 in advance and were taking the remaining amount today when they were held by the ACB sleuths who were present in plain clothes at Government Kapil Hospital.
The duo were arrested under the Prevention of Corruption Act, the official added.
