The big cat was first spotted by villagers at a grape farm, but fled due to presence of a large number of people there, said a police official.
The feline then entered the house of one Surwase family located near the farm, where it attacked two elderly persons.
The panicked family managed to lock it in a room and informed police and forest officials who rushed to the spot.
The leopard was finally entered into cage at around 2 PM.
