Two persons were injured in a fire which broke out at a two storied building in central part of the city's Bowbazar area today, the police said.
Four fire tenders were pressed into service to douse the flame which broke out at around 9.15 AM on the ground floor of the building.
Two persons sustained burn injuries and are undergoing treatment at the Calcutta Medical College and Hospital. No one is trapped inside, they said.
The fire tenders are still working in the presence of police with logistic support.
