Two jawans shot by Naxals; receive minor injures

Two police jawans were injured after they were shot at by Naxals in Chhattisgarh's Maoist-hit Rajnandgaon district today, police said.
The incident took place this morning when the duo were marching around Gatapar police station in Khairagarh region, located around 150 kms away from here, a senior police official told PTI.
A small action team of rebels fired upon the constables identified as - Suman Yadav and Shankar Mandavi- from far range resulting in superficial injuries on their legs, he said.
Soon after hearing sound of gunshots, their colleagues from the police station rushed to the spot.
Although, before they could take position to retaliate, rebels fled into the deep forests, he added.
"The injured jawans were rushed to a local hospital where their condition was said to be completely stable. The injuries were minor," the official said.
