Two kgs of brown sugar seized, five arrested

Two kgs of brown sugar worth about Rs two crore was seized at Mananthavady in the district and five persons have been arrested in connection with it, police said today.
Based on a tip off, police conducted search at a lodge last night and the contraband was seized, police said.
Cases have been registered under section 21(c) of Narcotic Drugs Psychotropic Substances(NDPS) Act.
