The incident took place yesterday when an Ecco van collided with a three-wheeler carrying four persons at main Kasba road and van hit a Maruti van. The driver of the Ecco van was allegedly in an inebriated state and was nabbed by passersby and handed over to the police, Station House Officer Subodh Saxena said.
The deceased have been identified as Roshni and Javed, who were travelling in the tempo from Ghaziabad to Kakda electricity substation, police said.
The driver of the other van, Monu, was also hurt in the collision, police said, adding the injured persons were taken to a nearby hospital.
The accused, Dilshad, has been booked under sections 279 (rash driving) and 304A (causing death by negligence)of IPC, the SHO said, adding the Ecco van has been impounded.
