The speeding truck on its way to Rampurhat in adjoining West Bengal dashed, killing the motorcyclist and the pillion rider, said Deputy Superintendent of Police, A K Srivastav said.
Following the incident, the pillion rider and the two-wheeler was entangled in the wheel of the truck and dragged it to about half a kilometre distance before the pillion rider, who was badly crushed, was separated from the wheel.
The driver of the truck stopped the vehicle and managed to escape, he said adding that the victims have been identified as Sahid-ul Sheikh and Sadik-ur Sheikh, both 30 yrs and resident of Kasiadanga Sheikhpara under Murshidabad district of West Bengal.
Both the victims were working as mason, he added.
