Police said three brothers were attacked by their five step brothers in a dispute over a piece of land belonging to their father at Chalihapara village.
The three were hit with spears and 'dao' and two of them died on the spot. The third was critically injured and admitted to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital.
Four of the attackers were arrested, the police said adding the fifth was absconding.
Deb along with senior police officials rushed to the spot.
The minister claimed that the five brothers who attacked were members of the CPI-M and were looking for an oppurtunity to assault the other three who were members of TMC since the latter won the recent Lok Sabha polls.
Local people said the fight was over property.
