Two persons were killed and other two were injured in an accident on Hyderabad-Mumbai national highway near Kamkole village, 70 km from Hyderabad, in Medak district of Telangana this morning.
The police found two country made .22 pistols, six used bullets and 10 to 15 kgs of suspected deer meat from the vehicle in which the victims were travelling.
D Ashok, sub-inspector attached to Munipally police station, said a Scorpio car heading to Hyderabad from Zaheerabad had a head-on collision with a truck near Kamkole village.
All the four victims, two of whom died on the spot, were travelling in the Scorpio. The deceased were identified as Abdul Sayeed (39) and Aman Saifullah Khan (29), both residents of Errrakunta in Hyderabad. Mohd Aneesullah Khan (30) and Abdul Aziz Khan (44), also from Hyderabad, were injured; they were taken to Apollo Hospital in the state capital.
Police recovered pistols, rounds and meat from the car, and suspect that the victims were returning after hunting deer in the forests near Bidar in Karnataka, bordering Zaheerabad.
The .22 pistols are mostly used for hunting, police said.
The meat was sent to a forensic laboratory for tests.
