Two killed in rain-related incidents

The maximum temperature in capital Delhi was recorded at 35.8 degrees celsius, two degrees more than normal while the minimum temperature was recorded at 27.2 degrees celsius.

The humidity level in the capital reached 94 per cent in the past 24 hours.

A teenager was killed and his elder brother seriously injured when the ceiling of their house collapsed over them following incessant rains at Kothing village in Uttarakhand's Bageshwar district.

The incident occurred late last night when the two brothers were asleep, officials at the Disaster Management and Mitigation Centre here said.

17-year-old Ghanshyam died on the spot while his elder brother Deepak (21) was seriously injured. He has been admitted to a nearby hospital, they said.

Most parts of Uttarakhand received light to medium intermittent rains in the last 24 hours. The Met department has predicted similar weather conditions across the region, especially in the high altitude areas of Kumaun and Garhwal plains, including Dehradun and Haridwar for the next 36 hours.
