Two killed, one hurt in gas cylinder explosion
Press Trust of India Hyderabad Two brothers were killed and their mother was seriously injured after a cooking gas cylinder exploded at their house in neighbouring Yadadri district in the early hours today, the police said.
The incident occurred after 12.30 a.M. In Raigiri village of Bhongir mandal, resulting in the deaths of Venkat Reddy (50) and Prabhakar Reddy (43). Their mother was seriously injured in the incident, following which she was shifted to a state-run hospital in Secunderabad.
As per preliminary investigation, the explosion was triggered by the leakage of gas. However, a probe has been launched from all angles including if the blast was caused by any explosive material, according to a senior police official.
"The explosion seems to have happened due to leakage of cooking gas cylinder, after the elderly woman tried to switch on the gas stove. However, we are probing all angles including presence of suspected explosive material, if any. We are taking opinion of experts and further investigation is on," SHO, Bhongir Rural, P Rajashekhar told PTI.
A case was registered by the police.
