"The female leopard had been causing panic in the Tarulkhedale area, an agricultural belt. She and her two cubs were subsequently kept in a cage by the officials of the forest department," police said.
The two cubs were found dead yesterday, they said, adding the cause of their death is yet to be ascertained.
The bodies have been sent to Sinnar taluka for post-mortem, an Forest department official said.
"The leopard was sent to Forest department garden in Nashik city, from where it would be released into the jungles," the official said.
