The cadres, identified as Kaveram Salaam and Jagnu Salaam (30), turned themselves in at Narayanpur district headquarters, Narayanpur Additional Superintendent of Police Anil Soni told PTI.
They were active as members of Bagjhar Janatana Sarkar group of Maoists in Benoor police station area of the district.
They were assigned tasks like arranging meetings as well food for rebels, dropping Maoist pamphlets and posters, collecting information and inputs and others local work, he said adding that Kaveram was carrying a reward of Rs 10,000 on his head.
"Moreover, they were also impressed with the provisions ofsurrenderand rehabilitation policy of the state government, besides police awareness campaign was among the other reasons which prompted them to join the mainstream," the ASP said.
They will be provided facilities as per the surrender and rehabilitation policies of the state government, he added.
