The class IX student was abducted on Friday and had returned home on Sunday with the family claiming that he came back on his own. However, the police, which had sent nine teams to rescue the child decided to bring it to a logical end.
During investigation it was found that the boy was kidnapped by three men who later released him after ransom was paid in the case.
Futher investigation was conducted and following a tip off, two of the accused, identified as Sher Mohd alias Sheru (30) and Tariq alias Mamu (34) were arrested and Rs 12,24,000 were recovered from the two. One accused Azim alias Raja is yet to be arrested in this case.
"The reason why all these efforts were made even after safe return of the boy was because we decided that if someone was behind the incident, then he should be brought to book so that no recurrence of such type of incident could take place in the area," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (North-East) R A Sanjeev.
During interrogation of the duo, it came to fore that Sher Mohd had worked for Mohd Asif, the father of kidnapped child some months ago. He knew that Asif has a business in Gandhinagar and he was financially very sound, police said.
They decided to execute their plan on Sunday and the trio met around 4 pm at Jheel Park. When they spotted the boy coming on a scooty along with his two friends, Tariq and Azim crashed their bike into the scooty.
They then put a hanky dipped in chloroform on the boy's mouth and took him to the residence of Tariq at Batla house on their bike. The next day, around 9.30 AM they snatched a mobile and used it to make a ransom call to the father of victim.
Further recovery will be done in this case after taking police remand and the apprehension of third accused Azim alias Raja, police said.
