Two men have been taken into custody for throwing items inside the White House premises leading to a temporary lockdown of the iconic residence of the US President for the second time in the last three days.
The White House was locked down for more than an hour yesterday after two men threw items over the area's north and south fence lines at the same time, the Secret Service said.
Evan J Graham and Vaughn Greenbrier Lerriche were arrested by the Secret Service, NBC News reported.
The object Graham threw has been described as a cassette tape while Lerriche threw what is being calling "miscellaneous papers." Officials do not know if the two incidents are connected.
Later, an all clear was given to the area.
President Barack Obama is not in Washington DC today as he is on a fund-raising swing in California.
