Two militants apprehended in Manipur

Two militants have been apprehended in separate incidents in Manipur by Assam Rifles and Army personnel.
Assam Rifles personnel under the aegis of Inspector General AR (South) apprehended one cadre of outlawed militant outfit People Liberation Army (PLA) at Keibi village in Imphal East district yesterday, an Assam Rifles press release said.
The militant was identified as 'Corporal' Athokpam Naoba (25) of Keibi KUmuda village of Imphal East district.
Some arms and ammunition were recovered from his possession which were handed over to Sagolmang police station, the release added.
In another operation troops of Red Shield division of the Army apprehended one cadre of outlawed militant outfit Kanglei Yawon Kanna Lup (KYKL) identified as Oinam Ibungo Meitei (34) of Kangwai Mamang Leikai in Bishnupur district yesterday from his own village, a defence release said.
He was handed over to Moirang police station for further investigation, the release said.
