Two minor girls gang raped, three arrested

Two minor girls were allegedly raped at a guest-house by three men, who have been arrested, in Barkot area of the district, police said today.
The girls alleged that on the pretext of giving them a lift in a car to their village, two of the accused forcefully took them to the guest-house and raped them along with one another on Friday, Barkot police station in-charge Santosh Kumar said.
"The girls, Class IX students, were offered the lift when they were returning from school," he said, adding the girls got suspicious when they drove past their village.
When they objected, the two asked them to keep quite or face consequences, he said.

"The girls somehow managed to escape on Saturday and reach their home. They disclosed the incident to their family members and reported the matter to police. The arrests were made on Sunday morning," Kumar said.
The third accused was a staff with the guest-house in Gangnani area, around 10 km from Barkot, he said.
They have been booked under relevant sections of the IPC and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, Kumar added.
