"Hemlal Murmu and Bidyut Baran Mahto faxed their letters of resignation from assembly membership. I will wait for sometime before accepting the letters as they have sent them by fax," Bhokta said here.
"They should hand over the letters in person. Even if they call me over phone again, I may consider accepting them," the Speaker said.
Both Murmu and Mahto, who won assembly election on JMM ticket, joined BJP after being in the party for several years.
When the Speaker accepts their resignation letters, the effective strength of the 82-member Jharkhand Assembly would be reduced to 79. Yesterday Chandrasekhar Dubey, who quit Congress and joined the Trinamool Congress, had resigned as MLA.
