Two more die of toddy consumption, toll rises to 7

Two more people died today after consuming toddy in Kewathiya village in the district as the toll from the incident mounted to seven, police said.
Twelve people have also been hospitalised, a senior police official said, adding eight people have been arrested since last night and 1,000 litres of toddy seized.
Superintendent of Police Ajay Kumar Shahni said, "We are carrying out the post-mortem of those deceased since yesterday in the adjoining areas to confirm the cause of death."
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had taken a strong note of the death of the five people yesterday after which three policemen and six employees of the Excise Department were suspended.
