With this, the total number of persons discharged from the case rose to 5 and currently 53 alleged rioters are behind bars, police said.
As the probe progressed, the city police's crime branch apprehended as many as 58 alleged rioters.
On August 27, investigators had discharged three persons after seeking the court's permission, a crime branch official said, adding that, "In the application put before the magistrate today, we sought to discharge two more persons, Amin Yunus Shaikh and Salim Mehtab Shaikh, under section 169 of the Criminal Procedure Code as the probe suggested that duo had no role in the violence."
Subsequently, the magistrate passed an order discharging the two.
Two youths were killed and 52, including 44 policemen, were injured on August 11 when a rally called to protest alleged atrocities on Muslims in Assam and Myanmar turned violent.
Protesters went on a rampage attacking the police, including some women constables, torching media and police vehicles, as well as smashing cameras of photo journalists and damaging buses.
Among the arrested accused include two "most wanted" rioters, who had vandalised the iconic Amar Jawan memorial on the fateful day.
