Superintendent of Police S M H Mirza said the two houses at Baburbagh and Badshahi Road respectively were traced last night on the basis of mobile tower location.
The investigators suspect that Kauser, whom the CID is looking for in connection with the Burdwan blast in which two suspected militants were killed and another person was injured, had resided in one of the houses.
Both the houses are at a stone's throw from the Khagragarh residence.
The CID had released Kauser's sketch on October 5 and sent it to all the police stations of Burdwan and nearby districts and railway stations to nab him.
