This comes days after the Supreme Court summoned the CBI joint director to explain the probe agency's failure to nab the absconding policemen.

The two police officials, Rajesh Choudhary, the circle inspector at the time of the incident, and ASI Arvind Bharadwaj surrendered before the Additional District and Sessions court.

On July 23, the division bench of the Supreme Court comprising justices S S Nijjhar and H S Gokhle had come down heavily on the mode of investigation adopted by the CBI and asked the agency's joint director to appear in person.

The apex court had also expressed its unhappiness with the state government for not suspending the absconding police officials.

With the surrender, the total number of policemen lodged in the central jail here in connection with the case has reached 14.

The only official who is now absconding is one Julfikar, along with Vijay Choudhary, who is allegedly a part of the liquor mafia.
