Ambrose and Brid, who support the MUSS team of Chris O'Brien and Mick Bennett, come from playing and coaching backgrounds and have proved their commitment to developing young football talent in Mumbai, a media release said today.

Ambrose and Brid are now qualified to coach at the Manchester United Schools and can be deputed at any location worldwide, the release said.

Ambrose, a former India international and prolific league striker, and Brid, who played for Orkay and Mahindra, had trained intensively at the MUSS programme here over the past 9 months, and also experienced first hand the MUSS coaching philosophy, the release added.

"We have been working with Alex and Pramod since the start of our programmes in January this year. We want all of our local coaches to fully understand how to deliver soccer programmes the Manchester United Way and make a difference in the lives of the people who take part in our programmes," said MUSS Head Coach O'Brien.

"Great credit must also go to Mick Bennett, our lead coach whose mentoring and guidance supported both Alex and Pramod," he added.

Ambrose said he had learnt a lot during the programme.

"We've learnt the difference in approach of coaching the Manchester United Way from what I've grown up learning as a footballer."

"I think I can safely say we've been coached the right way to deliver the best possible programmes. These are exciting times for Indian football and everyone connected to it- especially the kids whose future is being shaped with great care at MUSS. It's a privilege and a wonderful responsibility," said Brid.
