A week after four idols were stolen from a temple near here, police on Wednesday recovered two of them and arrested three people.
The idols, including one made of panchaloha (five metal), of Goddess Mariamman, Lord Muruga, his divine consorts Valli and Deivanai were found stolen from the Muthumariamman temple at Kodiakarai near Vedaranyam on August 15.
A special team set up to probe the case arrested three people of Vedaranyam and recovered two bronze idols from them, police said adding further investigation was on.
