Only 64.16 lakh children upto the age of six out of 1.85 crore children have been availing ICDS services for nutrition and elementary education in the state, the report said.
The survey, conducted by two NGOs - Child Rights and You (CRY) and Bihar Lok Adhikar Manch (BLAM) - demanded that there should be more ICDS centres (80,211 at present) to strengthen the delivery system for various benefits under ICDS.
The ICDS centres are overcrowded with an average of 80 children whereas the national average of 55, the report said.
The survey also detected inadequacy of ICDS service delivery system in the state, especially in the dalit and mahadalit societies, the report said.
