While Salman Saiyad (17) hanged himself at his residence in Shivaji Nagar, Poonam Jaiswal hanged herself to a ceiling fan at her house in Nirankar Colony in the same locality, a police official said.
Saiyad participated in the Dahihandi festival last night.
According to the official, Jaiswal, who was married for a year, was undergoing treatment for an illness.
In a suicide note purportedly written by her, Jaiswal said nobody should be held responsible for her death.
The Govandi Police have registered cases of accidental death in both the incidents.
