Delivering the judgment, Salem Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Jothijayaram said Nirmalkumar and Manikandan had in an inebriated state murdered Kulandha Gounder (60) on August 28, 2010.
According to the prosecution, after snatching a motorcycle from a passer-by, the two accused had taken the body with them before slicing it into pieces and throwing them at different places.
The court sentenced them to life on charges of murder and 10 years for cutting the body into pieces and throwing them at different places besides three years for snatching the motorcycle. The sentences will run concurrently, the court said.
