Two jawans of Assam Police Task Force died on the spot early this morning when their motorcycle collided head-on with a speeding truck on National Highway-37 at Makri in Goalpara Sadar police station.
The dead police personnel were identified as Deepjyoti Laskar and Amarjyoti Das.
The truck was set ablaze by a mob and the driver fled the spot, the police said.
