On a tip off regarding illicit weapons, sub-inspector Keshav Verma along with another personnel intercepted a car and recovered two fire weapons yesterday, they said.
While the two policemen were quizzing the car passengers they snatched the rifle and pistol, attacked and injured the cops before fleeing from the spot, police said.
Two persons have been detained in this connection, they said.
