Two postal department officials held for accepting bribe

Two officials of the Head Post Office in Odisha's Jajpur were arrested by the CBI for allegedly accepting bribe from a man to issue a registration certificate for cable operation.
A team of the investigating agency raided the Head Post Office here yesterday and arrested Head Post Master Bharat Chandra Das and clerk Alok Kumar Sahu, CBI officials said.
They said the complainant Bichitra Kumar Mohanty of Madhuban area in the district had applied to the Head Post Master for a registration certificate as a cable operator and deposited the requisite fees and documents with the post office in this connection.
Head Post Master Das demanded Rs 5000 to issue the license for running a cable business. Mohanty approached the CBI, they said.
The CBI team caught the post master and the clerk while accepting the bribe money from Mohanty in the head post office. Investigation was on, officials said.
