Two revenue dept officers arrested taking bribe

Two officers of Raigadh revenue department including a Class-I officer were arrested near hear for allegedly demanding and accepting bribe from the complainant, Anti-Corruption Bureau officials said today.
Additional tehsildar in Land Revenue Court, Panvel- Class-I Dileep Shanar Sankhe was arrested yesterday for demanding a bribe of Rs 2.50 lakh from the complainant, while deputy auditor Ranjana Modak for accepting a part of the bribe on behalf of Sankhe, Additional SP ACB Thane Range, Srinivas Ghadge told PTI.
Sankhe had demanded bribe Rs 2.50 lakh for declaring the value of the land belonging to the complaint and it was decided that the first instalment of Rs 30,000 would be paid on December 16 in the office of the Land Revenue Court at Panvel.
Following the demand, the complainant lodged a complaint with ACB's Thane office and officials of the Navi Mumbai unit laid a trap at the office of Land Revenue Court and arrested Deputy Auditor Ranjana Modak while accepting the bribe on behalf of Sankhe, he said.
Both the officers have been booked under relevant sections of Prevention of Corruption Act, he added.
