Two school children were today killed when lightning struck in Himachal Pradesh's Chamba district, police said.
The deceased, who were returning from school, fell unconscious as the lightning struck and some pedestrians noticed them and rushed them to a hospital, where they were declared brought dead, they said.
The boys were identified as Ravi Kumar (17) and Bheelo (17), students of a government Jadera school.
Confirming the incident, Tehsildar Chamba Jagdish Chand Sharma told that an immediate relief of Rs 10,000 has been given to the next of kin of each deceased.
The bodies have been sent for postmortem.
