Two security guards of bank's cash van injured in firing

Two security guards of a bank's cash van sustained bullet injuries when four unidentified persons allegedly opened fire on them near Saila Khurd today.
The security guards Jaswinder Singh and Jagdish Lal, posted with State Bank of Patiala were injured after four unidentified men opened fire at their cash van, police said.
The van was heading towards the head office at Hoshiarpur from Garhshankar bank branch in the morning today, when another vehicle overtook the van.
The four occupants of the other vehicle started firing at the guards, police said, adding that the assailants might have intended to loot the cash.
But the culprits left the scene after firing at the guards, police said.
The guards have been admitted in Civil Hospital, Garhshankar.
A case has been registered and further investigations are under progress, police added.
