Two sharp-shooters arrested

Two alleged sharp-shooters of Neeraj Bawana gang, who had shot dead two brothers following an incident of road rage in Sultanpur Dabas village of Bawana in Outer Delhi on February 28, were arrested after a brief exchange of fire here this morning, police said.
The two accused, identified as Rahul alias Kala and Ravi alias Monia carried a reward of Rs 1 lakh each. They were arrested by the Crime Branch from near Prahladpur village. Two sophisticated pistols along with seven live cartridges and two fired cartridges were recovered along with a Maruti Swift car.
On February 28, a Skoda car driven by Rahul had a minor accident with a Champion Tempo of Sahab Singh following which Rahul, Ravi and Katya who were in the car, got into a heated argument with Sahab Singh and his brother Kaptan. The trio then shot dead both the brothers and fled away from the scene, police said.
A case was registered and investigation was taken up by the police.
"A tip off was received here this morning that Rahul and Ravi, who are wanted in the double murder, will come from Khera Khurd village toward Prahladpur village through canal bridge and go to Pooth Khurd village between 5 to 7 AM in a white Swift car with the intention to kill Rajesh alias Durmuth of Neetu Dabodha gang," said Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Yadav.
Accordingly, a trap was laid and one white Maruti Swift car was spotted. When the occupants of the car were asked to stop, they opened fire at the police party. The police party acted swiftly and apprehended the duo with arms, police said.
One 7.65 mm bore pistol along with four live cartridges, one pistol of 9 mm along with three live cartridges and two fired cartridges of 9 mm and 7.65 mm each were recovered from them while the Maruti Swift car was also seized.
Rahul is an active member of Neeraj Bawana gang. He opens fire at the slightest provocation and had even fired on a police party in Bawana in 2011. He has actively been involved in extortion of money especially in the area of Outer district and Haryana. He is the brother of gangster Naveen alias Bali who is presently lodged in jail, said Yadav.
Ravi is also involved in the extortion racket of Neeraj Bawana and both of them were wanted in a number of cases, police said.
